new year wellness guide

December 23, 2021

Can you believe the new year is already here? We can’t believe
how fast this year went by. As much as we love the energy this time of year, it is also a time for us to be cautious of falling into bad habits, like stress eating, going for comfort foods, and falling off of our daily movement routines. Between Thanksgiving, Hannukah, and Christmas, it is normal to indulge, but it is important we keep everything in moderation and practice discipline, not deprivation.

Here are some tips to reset your body and move into a
strength state for 2022.

Everything in moderation.

Remember, moderation – not deprivation. If you indulge, counteract it with alkalizing minerals such as lemon water when you wake up or before you go to sleep to help with inflammation.

Start your day on the right foot.

Especially now, there is no telling where the day will take
us, between emotional stress, physical stress, or chemical stress. Anticipate these hurdles early on and start your day well, a green juice or smoothie (without fruit) can help set the tone for the day by energizing and lowering inflammation for better decision making.

Eat three meals a day.

Intermittent fasting is fine, too, but remember not to skip
lunch and dinner. Eating those key meals helps curve sugar cravings and stabilizes insulin levels. Looking for a snack? Reach for healthy choices like brazil or macadamia nuts that are high in magnesium and even have cancer fighting properties.

Motion creates emotion.

Moving your body changes your psychological state and helps
you make better choices. A ten minute at home fitness routine is all it takes
to stimulate your endorphins.

Detox in the new year.

With the new year here, it’s the perfect time to reset your
body for a fresh and strong start. Try a day of drinking a mixture of water,
maple syrup, cayenne pepper, and lemon juice to clean your body from last year’s toxins.
